Motivational Speaking

Marla has shared her story to a variety of audiences, including parents and children, business executives, and of course, fellow runners. Her speaking style is sincere and genuine. She conveys her inspirational story with humility and humor and tailors each speech to the needs of her audience.

Her message; creating a dream and turning it into reality through perseverance and hard work. When addressing a room of 900 middle school students, Marla asked, “What do you care about….really care about? What one thing is so important to you, you are willing to work at it everyday?”

Marla has spoken to numerous corporations such as Merck, Bank of America, and Shell Trading. By tying in the company’s goals and challenges, Marla connects with her audience, inspires and motivates.

"Shell Trading Gas and Power invited Marla to be our keynote speaker at our 2007 conference in San Diego. The theme was "Committing to Win". Marla's story of committing to making the Olympics, in spite of many obstacles, paralleled our business theme. Her speech was inspirational and well-delivered to our group of business executives. She was able to tailor her personal history to Shell's commitment towards serving customers, seeking opportunities, developing resources and obtaining excellence in execution. At the end of the conference, Shell Trading's President quoted Marla to sum up his comments about the conference: The future has yet to be written."
